More and more of us are reading more and more mystery novels. Call it “comfort food” or “TV reading” we find the distraction of a mystery novel appealing and many of them are actually very well written!
One of my customers has suggested that we might consider starting a Mystery Book Club to discuss what we are reading and share with others the books we have most enjoyed.
I have agreed to gather names and numbers and we will contact those who are interested in the New Year to host an introductory meeting.
If you are interested please email me your contact information, and what day and time of day you would most prefer to meet.
Happy reading!

Seems we have sent out far too many emails this week, but it is a busy time of year, and I am taking some time off next week.
In no particular order here are some of the most notable books that arrived this past week.
Jamie Oliver brings us yet another beautiful and very useful new book. 5 Ingredients offers quick and easy – and simply delicious - recipes. Most are for 2 people making it perfect for young couples – or the old folks, and all are easy to double or triple for a family.
John Grisham’s latest is The Rooster Bar, a novel about law school students struggling with crushing debt, looking for a way out that may or may not be legal.
Storm and Silence by David P. Silcox and Harold Town was originally published in 1977, and re-issued this fall. This beautiful, big book is still the most comprehensive collection of the work of Tom Thomson’s work.
Christmas at the Vinyl Café is a collection of all of the Christmas stories by the late, great Stuart McLean, who lives on through his stories, brimming with charm and humour, reminding us what the holidays are all about!
Linwood Barclay is still in the once-idyllic community of Promise Falls, and Parting Shot is once again a gripping thriller packed with scandal.
