Today we've had our first rain in a long time to welcome in the month of May. We also welcome back many seasonal residents - it has been a long winter without you! The spring new releases are coming in each day - the new No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Novel, Double Comfort Safari Club by  the prolific Alexander McCall-Smith - Solar by Ian McEwan, Private Life by Jane Smiley, God of the Hive by Laurie R. King - to mention just a few.

James Street is still under construction - along with Gibson Street and Mary Street - the addition of new sidewalks is, I am sure, a good thing but it has been a difficult time for the downtown as shoppers do not come to the downtown core unless they are on an essential errand - we will weather it as we have construction in the past but please, please don't forget that we are here, open our usual hours, ready to be of service to you - and we need your patronage more than ever!
